Our Company
Our journey began in 2008 when we fell in love with a 4lbs puggle (half pug/half beagle) which we named Coco a.k.a The Nut. It was immediately apparent that Coco was not ‘just’ a dog; she was “our baby”! Her needs were ahead of anyone in the house with her play time, health and of course her feeding schedule a priority. Unfortunately, when we brought her home, her doggie friend Cleo was diagnosed with cancer. We knew food was the number one cause of Cleo’s health condition, so our mission was to figure what to feed our new baby that would keep her happy and most importantly healthy.
As humans, we used to go to fast-foods restaurants once or twice a week and never paid attention to what’s in our food or to what we were truly eating. In recent years we have learned to be more cautious by reading the nutritional labels and watching what we put in our bodies. We feel the same principle should apply with our pets. If you go to the grocery store and pick up a bag of kibbles paying more attention to the price, chances are you may not be feeding your pet good quality food. Also, much like humans, a good diet will keep them healthy which will save you money by avoiding trips to the doctor’s office.
On our quest to find good quality dog food we discovered most of what could be purchased on the shelves had preservatives, chemicals and animal by-products which we did not want to feed our baby. So, we decided to study about the proper ways to maintain a healthy dog’s digestive system. And, after consulting with numerous holistic doctors we created a well balanced homemade meal that contains all the necessary proteins and vitamins to maintain a growing puppy. By the way, Coco loved it!
Our initial formula was for CocoMeal Puppy Food, however our product line has expanded to include CocoMeal Active Dog Food and CocoMeal Sensitive Food (for dogs that have a sensitive digestive system) .
Since starting our company we are proud to be responsible for saving a few doggies lives. Some of our clients came to us when their dogs were sick and had orders from their vets to change their diet. Others have chosen CocoMeal simply because their dogs are picky eaters. Whatever the reason, they have all seen a positive change in their dog’s behavior, coats and health in general.
