Cooked vs. Raw Dog Food - Which is better?

If you search "cooked versus raw dog food" on the internet you will find a LOT of information about this debate/opinion.   While there are strong arguments for both sides, our mission with CocoMeal is to minimize the amount of harmful products an animal consumes, eliminate food borne illnesses and maximize your pets longevity.

Raw meat diets contain the possibility of infecting your dog with bacteria and parasites.  The digestive system of a dog is also not suited for raw vegetables. Your dog has carnivore teeth, which can tear meat but are not designed to grind food into small pieces like a herbivore.   Also, dogs have short digestive systems, which are not suited to breaking down raw vegetables. Consequently, raw vegetables tend to simply pass through your dog's digestive system, with most of the nutrients not being absorbed.

Because of this, all of our food is thoroughly cooked which means it will reduce the risk of raw meat borne contaminants and allow the vegetables to be easily digested.  Ultimately the decision is yours to make, however the research we have done leads us to believe that a well balanced cooked diet is healthier choice for your dog!
